The roots of this jam session can be traced back to this address as early as the 1940s, and to this very day it is an important gathering for local musicians. Ed Ivey has been hosting the jam for well beyond the past decade, long before the arrival of Swig, and has seen a lot of wonderful interaction between local players that has led to new groups, new gigs, etc. Sometimes as many as fifteen rotating musicians take to the stage and the leading bartender, Jenny Mac, sings a few numbers at what is undoubtedly one of San Francisco's best weekend wind downs.

   The is never a cover charge at Swig, and all players are welcome by checking in with Ed on arrival. The Blues Jam takes place every Sunday from 9pm to 1:30am.
